About the Author

Shelly Johnson-Choong was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, and now lives in the Pacific Northwest. She has lectured in her community and often participates as a speaker in LDS Relief Society meetings and youth firesides. In addition to many Church callings that involve teaching in the Young Woman and Relief Society organizations, she has enjoyed serving as a stake missionary, a temple ordinance worker and a Gospel Doctrine teacher. She is currently teaching Relief Society and institute.
Shelly is the author of The Jewelry Box, A Light to Come Home By, Lilies and Clover, and Finding Home. She also has a talk on tape, titled, To Each A Gift.
Shelly enjoys traveling abroad with her husband, Larry, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with her beloved dog, Koshi. She also enjoys her music; as a flutist, she has studied with some of the finest musicians in the Northwest. She enjoys hiking, cross- country skiing and hopes to take up snowshoeing.
She is a former equestrian, entrepreneur, and currently she is working in a hospital as a pharmacy technician. She loves observing wildlife. She cares for wild birds and enjoys watching them raise their families. Her greatest joys, however, are her family and friends.
