Mental and Mindful Health
Meet Shelly
We all face difficult and often heart-wrenching challenges. As a recently retired mental health therapist, my work was and continues to be emotion-focused. I was EMDR trained, and I partnered with clients through their specific hardships and transitions. This included loss, divorce, empty-nests, illness, and other life changes. I also specialized in grief, depression, anxiety, forgiveness, reproductive trauma, complex trauma, emotional health for both men and women, and much more. I retired from private practice in June, 2023, and I'm currently coaching clients and teaching classes that are relevant to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and when I was practicing, I was a referred Family Services provider.
I strive to offer my clients the best evidence-based practices. My classes are based on research and time spent working with clients in the mental health field.
I also have a deep respect for my clients and their identity in how it relates to the church, and their relationship with God. Each of us has a unique relationship with God, the gospel, and the church, and I approach each session and class with a sacred respect for that relationship.
I hold a BASW from the University of Washington Tacoma and an MSW from Boston University. Working together, my goal is to help my clients find their own inherent strength and wisdom to help them discover their their best self as they work to reach their full potential.
