Relational Communication
This class goes beyond tips on how to communicate better. Although I offer practical and helpful strategies, we also discuss reasons there can be a disconnect in our ability to communicate. In fact, my main goal in creating this class is to help people take a look at their own communication style and see where they can make changes to enhance their ability to both understand and hopefully be understood.
No communication class can or should promise you resolution to your relationship problems. However, when we feel as if we've done our best to communicate with others, we're better able to determine how to navigate our relationships.

In this class, we'll work on a skill set to help you become a better listener and discuss the importance of being be emotionally safe while communicating with others. We'll also take a deeper dive into what works behind the scenes of our communication style. We'll examine:

-
the role our family of origin plays in how we talk with others.
-
how our personal value system can shape our communication.
-
why boundaries matter in communication and how to set them.
-
the importance of curiosity in communication and how to foster it.
-
And more...
You will also be given a six-page handout for easy reference and note taking.
